Girls Soccer – Corning at Chenango Valley

Corning and Chenango Valley will lock horns in a rematch of last year’s classic STAC Championship, won by the Hawks 1-0 on their home field. Gillian Mason connected on a header two minutes into the start of the 2nd half on a corner kick from Lauren Gerow, and the Hawks’ defense made sure it held up. Now the Warriors get to play host, and they’re fresh off of an impressive 2-0 victory over Owego in a rematch of last year’s Section IV, Class B Championship. Corning has lost a couple of tight ones to Maine-Endwell and Vestal, but only by a goal each.
