Ruffin (Long Jump) finished 13th at NYPSHSAA Division 1 State Championship. Douglas Cornfield (1,600) and Nathaniel Jennings (Pole Vault) won Section IV Class A Championships. Cornfield (1,600) finished 4th and (3,200) finished 10th at NYSPHSAA Federation Championships. Alex Kolpien (Pole Vault) finished 7th, Jennings (Pole Vault) finished 18th, and Reilly Wells (Pentathlon) finished 25th at NYSPHSAA Federation Championships. Cornfield (800) and 4x400 Relay won STAC Championships.
Girls – Won STAC West division, STAC, and Section IV Class A Championships. Cella McLaughlin (100 Hurdles) won STAC and Section IV Class A Championships, and finished 7th at NYSPHSAA Division 1 State Championship. Sadie Beres (2,000 Steeplechase) won Section IV Class A Championship and finished 17th at NYSPHSAA Federation Championship. Sophia Cimo (Shot Put) won Section IV Class A Championship and finished 10th at NYSPHSAA Division 1 State Championship. Cimo (Discus) finished 10th at NYSPHSAA Division 1 State Championship. Leila Ianovici (800), Reese Conway (Pole Vault), and 4x800 Relay won Section IV Class A Championships. Boys – This season we have the biggest team we have had in many years with numerous returning athletes and new to track and field athletes. We are excited to have competitive athletes in all events and hope to make a run at the STAC East division and put pressure on schools in our class.
Girls – We have quite a few freshmen that moved up to varsity and are showing great promise. Our goal is to have them try different events and find their niche. We have some outstanding seniors and we’re very excited to see how their last year running at the high school level goes.
