U-E

Yesterday the U-E Cross-Country teams spent their practice time at Kali's Klubhouse in Apalachin. While they were there the team ran along pastures with horses and participated in an equine-guided meditation session. When the coaches at Union-Endicott began talking with Fargnoli Farms we were guided to a book by Dominique Barbier in which he writes... “Where we analyse, where we try to explain, where we try to re-create, where we try to simply be, horses are already there –waiting for us to walk through the open door, to follow the path of spiritual oneness, to allow healing energy to come in.” Yesterday we could see that a connection with horses, especially when during meditation, can help teach us the skills we need to handle the trials and turbulence of life: Perseverance, patience, self-discipline, empathy, forgiveness, leadership and much more.

This session matched up with the district’s incentive to promote mental wellness in athletics, which they celebrated just last week and with their STAC Championship which occurs this weekend in Oneonta.

The team was very grateful to the athletic office and the team of individuals/administrators that made this trip come to fruition.
